Student Events
Achievement Day
Student Achievement Testing is a Michigan Music Teachers Association (MMTA) program, administered locally by KAMTA every spring. Students participate by learning three memorized pieces to play for a judge. In addition, students take tests in theory, aural awareness, technique and sight reading. Locally, SAT is non-competitive, but if a student receives a high enough score, he/she is eligible to play at the MMTA state semi-finals at which winners are chosen, and those winners go on to play at the state finals.
Gilmore Keys Fest
Held in mid February, the Gilmore KeysFest, is a piano festival run by the Gilmore, for students of all levels (grades 1-12). Students perform a piece in a small group setting of students and adults and receive instruction and affirmation of their skills from a professional educator in a friendly master class environment.

Students present 1-20 memorized prices in an adjudicated recital format. All students receive some sort of annual recognition, while teachers may receive an assessment of their teaching skills.
