KAMTA:
Welcomes any teacher of music regardless of educational background or teaching experience. Students of all ages/levels, with a variety of musical goals can be found thriving with KAMTA teachers.
KAMTA is a local affiliate of the Michigan Music Teachers Association (MMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Membership at all 3 levels is required for full access to all benefits and opportunities. One year of free engagement with all local activities is offered as an opportunity to try out the organization.
Monthly professional development programs are offered at WMU.
KAMTA membership can help generate student referrals and help with student retention.
The excellent facilities of WMU, including Steinway concert grand pianos, are used for local events. Events for students desiring more advanced competition are available at the state and national level.
Other benefits of membership include insurance programs, printing discounts at Office Max/Depot, a subscription to American Music Teacher, and opportunities for professional development both online and face to face.
